Box 4 Folder 5: "This is folder number 5, is a manual for the Johnston Broadcasting Company for WJLD Homewood from about 1960, October of ’60 and its engineering data on the tower. This is probably something that was put together for the FCC because they are proposing that 1400 AM (kilocycles) increases its power from 250 watts to 1 kilowatt in this proposal. And the proposal is dated October of 1960. Found in the WJLD files. We've included their presentation as well but not the maps. They had to make an argument that a 1K would not interfere with other stations on or around 1400 AM, They had to "protect" WJHO Opelika, WXAL Demopolis, WMSL Decatur, WFPA Fort Payne, WLAQ Rome, GA, and WHAL Shelbyville, TN."
