Constitution, Bylaws and Rules of Order, Birmingham Federation of Labor
Description
Box 1 Folder 57: "Alright here we go. This is box 1 folder 57, which contains the constitutions bylaws and rules of order of the Birmingham Federation of Labor as amended from August ‘37 through June of ‘47 so the book is still in existence as of this moment in time. As well some stationary from the Radio Broadcast Technicians and Engineers who were apparently a subsidiary of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local union number 253. They were associated with the AFL. This may be before the AFL and CIO joined; obviously it is because it would have been different stationary. This is June 25, 1949 announcing that the local is on strike at radio station WBRC, and it was directed to the Birmingham Federation of Labor, so labor unity back in the day. It’s not clear where this was obtained. It may have been obtained from Ben Franklin."
