Title A name given to the resource Ephemera Collection Description An account of the resource In 2009, BBRM staff and volunteers began the archiving of this collection, with the arranging of objects chronologically (1935 – 1995) and the purchasing of proper archival storage materials. In 2011, an oral finding aid with provenance was constructed by conversations between University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies (UA SLIS) volunteer Lindsey Reynolds (now at University of Georgia, Athens Library) and BBRM Director Bob Friedman. In 2013 and 2014, those interviews were transcribed by UA SLIS volunteer Michael Mitchell (known affectionately as the MMT). For each object, the original finding aid conversation has been added and can be found in quotes in the description section. As of the most recent online uploading in August, 2019, the Ephemera Collection consisted of eight boxes containing 413 folders with approximately 850 files, spanning the period 1935-1989. Text A resource consisting primarily of words for reading. Examples include books, letters, dissertations, poems, newspapers, articles, archives of mailing lists. Title A name given to the resource WJLD Coverage Map, 250 watts Description An account of the resource Box 1 Folder 25: "This is box 1 number 25, which is from 1945, which is also a coverage map of WJLD when it was 250 watts. It was printed on the back of WJLD stationary dated December 20, 1945, which was a letter to Ben Franklin who was the engineer at the time from Bill Terry who was the general manager at JLD wishing him a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. We are assuming that this map was produced at around the same time as it was printed on the back of stationary. So we’re presuming that the map was accurate to that period 1945.
