Box 1 Folder 14: "This is box 1 number 14, 1943. A picture of James R. Doss, Jr. who was the brother of J. L. Doss who owned WJLD. WJRD was turned on in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which may have been on the air before WJLD. It’s just a clipping, which happens to have his picture on it from February 12, 1943, probably the Birmingham News again microfiche Birmingham Public Library."
